It’s Garages
In this work, Petr Gruber returns to one of the happiest memories of his childhood: summer holidays in the Czech mountains.
To reach the lakes hidden beyond the hills, families would leave their cars behind and continue their journey through the landscape. Gruber paints the garages where those holidays began, not necessarily as they look today, but as they remain preserved in his mind.
More than an architectural scene, the painting captures the quiet anticipation of a journey about to begin. A place remembered through the colours and emotions of childhood.
This painting is connected to a work out of the same memory series: “Evening between pines”
