Ricksonettalie

ricksonettalie is the artistic identity of Ricky Et Talie, a 26-year-old graphic designer with Moroccan and South African roots. Currently working for a fashion brand in Antwerp, he is steadily shaping his own visual language and building a path towards becoming a full-time artist.

His multicultural background strongly influences his understanding and use of colour. For Rickson, colour is more than a visual element. It is a language through which he speaks and one that speaks back. His paintings emerge from thoughts and emotions that cannot easily be translated into words, turning them into something immediate, instinctive and visceral.

Painting began as a necessity. Where words fell short, colour offered clarity and became a more honest way for him to express himself.

Animals have taken centre stage in his recent work. Unfiltered and symbolic, each one represents a particular emotional state or period in his life. Within them, Rickson recognises fragments of his own reality: the solitude of the tiger, the illusion of the pink elephant and the quiet finality of the white stag. Every animal is carefully chosen. Every painting carries something deeply personal.

From colourful animals to dreamlike landscapes, Rickson works primarily on large-scale canvases. His paintings are bold, expressive and made to command their surroundings. They do not simply complement an interior. They transform it.
